Time Attack Organisation announce an exciting plan to create a new touring car racing championship from 2025.

Club Time Attack already runs the Time Attack Championship, Racing Hondas Championship and Motorsport UK DriftPro Championship as well as a raft of major car shows in which these sports are showcased at the UK’s premier racing circuits such as Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Donington, Snetterton and Cadwell Park alongside Tunerfest, Go Japan and Modified Live.

The Ultimate Racing Championship is designed to welcome a full grid of touring cars to follow an exciting sprint race format. Motorsport UK has awarded outline agreement for full Championship status.

The grid will be formed of touring cars of modern era that feature 2 litre turbo charged engines using specific Club Time Attack regulations, which are unique, thus creating close and action-packed racing.

Plans for the commercial and promotional opportunities have been drawn up and are underway which recognise and lower the costs for teams with these cars, to ensure cars are where they should be – on the grid and racing.

The calendar and format for 2025 will mirror the concrete form and prototype championship philosophy that made the recent Racing Hondas Championship an instant success.

Andy Barnes, Managing Director comments

In 2025 we shall celebrate 20 years of successful event organisation and I am proud to do so with this new and vibrant championship alongside our existing activities.

The blueprint for a new era of the club, to organise further race categories, was the Racing Hondas Championship which was introduced from scratch in 2023 which enjoys maximum grids at every race weekend in its second year.

As a creative and youthful organisation with a huge fanbase to match, our focus is to create and maintain solid, sporting, enjoyable racing and events ensuring they are captivating for the modern world. These principles are the engine of our entire sporting and commercial machine. There is a hunger for this close racing within our events as we have a young audience that is yet to experience and be inspired by the thrill of touring car racing.

There are plenty of suitable cars out there which we believe we can bring together and provide a permanent relevant home, on a thriving and competitively bustling grid.

This will be achieved by massively reducing costs for teams using the form already demonstrated in our blueprint by while showering the new Championship with our strong dedicated team and commercial expertise. This Championship will be introduced into our existing high-profile events calendar in front of tens of thousands of spectators.

We will welcome a high-quality grid of drivers who are looking for this motivation to race, firmly grasping the opportunity to discover the benefits of racing with us and making it much easier for them to reward their sponsors and unlock support to not only get them on the grid, but keep them there long-term.

We know we can provide a positive and refreshing championship for teams which will immediately address the issue of not only cost, in our revolutionary manner, but pin-point the great reasons to go racing in an environment worthy of annual commitment by teams.

Teams with eligible cars should take note as this is very real as we have already demonstrated with Racing Hondas.  The solid and exciting calendar ensures that racing is in the best months of the year with ample time for preparation prior to the championship launch in May.

If you have one of these cars, you have a new home and we are waiting to do great things with you and your team‘.

Further details of the championship will be released in the coming weeks and any potential teams and partners are invited to get in touch early to express interest pending further announcements.
